Fire Hydrant and Valve Replacements | 09.08.25-10.15.25

Project Updates

ATTENTION ALL RESIDENTS:  BUFFALO DRIVE WILL BE CLOSED TO THROUGH TRAFFIC FROM MONDAY, 10/13, TO THURSDAY, 10/16.  FOLLOW SIGNAGE FOR DETOURS.

Tuesday October 14th

3:30 PM - Water has been restored to residents.  Buffalo Dr. remains closed to through traffic while the excavation is backfilled and the road is made safe again.  It is expected to reopen on Wednesday, 10/15.  If you experienced an outage and have murky or discolored water, please run the highest faucet in your home for 10-15 minutes or until the water clears up and any air has been purged from the system.

Monday, October 13th:

7:45 PM - Water has been restored to all residents.  Please remain cautious in the area as crews are still working to backfill the excavation.  If you are experiencing murky or discolored water, please run the highest faucet in your home for 10-15 minutes or until the water clears up.  Thank you for your patience.

Crews will begin digging to replace the water valve at Eagles Nest Ct and Ryan Gulch Rd.  Affected residents will be informed via Aquahawk (please register if you haven't) and should expect intermittent service interruptions between 9 AM and 7 PM.

Also on Monday, Crews will be moving into the Buffalo Dr. area to begin work on multiple valve replacements.  Buffalo Drive will be closed to through traffic for the duration of the project.  Please use alternate routes.  Scheduled water outages will be communicated to residents approximately 24 hours in advance and are expected to start on Tuesday, 10/14.  Water could be shut down anytime after 9 AM and restored by 7 PM

October 10th, 2025

Installation of the new hydrant has been completed on Eagles Nest Ct., and crews are repairing a service line and backfilling the excavation.  Water has been restored to residents.

October 8th, 2025

Crews have moved to Eagles Nest Ct. to begin the fire hydrant replacement at the end of the cul-de-sac.  Residents have been notified of the scheduled water service interruption on Thursday, 10/9.  Work is expected to be completed and water service restored by 7 PM.

October 6th, 2025

Work is set to resume on Cutty Sark.  Residents in the area have been advised of a scheduled shutdown that could occur between 9 AM and 7 PM.  Crews expect to complete this portion of the project today.

October 3rd, 2025

There are two simultaneous digs today, one at Cutty Sark and the other at the entrance to Lower Woodworks.  Due to the power outage earlier in the day and for the safety of crews on the ground, work was halted, temporarily delaying both projects until Xcel completes repairs.

1 PM - Electric service has been restored, and work at Lower Woodworks will resume due to the excavation being so near Ryan Gulch Rd, and not wanting to leave the site open for the weekend.  Crews are still aiming for water service to be restored by 7 PM.  Work at Cutty Sark will resume on Monday, and residents in the affected area should see another shutoff notification via text and or email from Aquahawk.  Please remember that the only way to be notified is through Aquahawk, so register today and make sure your information and communication preferences are set to receive important information from the district.

7:15 PM - Water has been restored to all residents.  If you experienced an outage during the day, please run the highest faucet in your home for 15 minutes to help purge any standing water and air that may be in the system.

September 29, 2025

Crews have mobilized and begun work at the cul-de-sac end of Cutty Sark to replace a water valve and fire hydrant.  There will be a water outage in the area tomorrow, and now residents who will be affected have been notified.

September 24th, 2025

Work has commenced on the North side of Lodgepole Circle.  Crews will be installing new valves and a new hydrant.  This project is scheduled for two days, with completion set for 9/25.  Water outages can be expected over the course of the project during the day, but it is the goal to have service restored by 7 pm each night.

September 23rd, 2025

The fire hydrant and valve replacement on North Side Circle is completed.  Crews have begun mobilizing equipment to the next project.

September 19th, 2025

The work on Sauterne has been completed, and water has been restored. On Monday, crews will begin work on North Side Circle. Please check your emails and messages for notifications on water outages.

September 11th, 2025

Please see the updated timeline under "Anticipated Timeline" below.

September 10th, 2025

We anticipate that the construction at the intersection of Ryan Gulch Ct and Ryan Gulch Rd will continue into Thursday, September 11th. This may impact the anticipated timeline below; updates will be provided as we have a better estimate.

September 9th, 2025

Construction work has concluded on Fawn Court, and water has been fully restored. In the coming weeks, there may be some additional work in the area around this construction site, but it will have minor impacts on the street and residents.

Summary

The district is actively working to improve emergency response and maintenance efficiency by replacing old or defective fire hydrants and faulty water isolation valves. This year, we aim to upgrade multiple hydrants to enhance accessibility and ensure reliable operation during emergencies. Additionally, due to a recent surge in water line breaks, we are prioritizing the replacement of more isolation valves than usual to help minimize service disruptions during both planned maintenance and emergencies.

Anticipated Timeline

The table below outlines the anticipated timeline of construction that will be taking place. This work may result in road closures and water outages in the areas listed. Water outages may be intermittent between 9 AM and 7 PM while work is being done and are not planned for any weekends. When water is restored, you may need to run your water for a few minutes until your water runs clear to remove any air trapped in the line. Changes to this timeline are likely, but the website will be updated as the district has updates available, and notifications will be sent to residents (who are registered in AquaHawk) affected by water outages the day before they take place, whenever possible.
