Mandatory Water Restrictions
Buffalo Mountain Metropolitan District, Summit County and the entire state of Colorado is experiencing the worst snow pack in recorded history and the effects of the drought are worsening with the start to a dry summer. As such, the district is requiring all residences to reduce their daily water use through these mandatory restrictions and water conservating methods.
Restricted Watering Schedule: Two Days a Week
- Lawns: No person should irrigate, sprinkle, or otherwise apply water to lawns except during the following days and times:
Zone 1 - Last whole number in address is even - watering on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 p.m. to 9 a.m. (overnight).
Zone 2 - Last whole number in address is odd - watering on Wednesdays and Fridays from 6 p.m. to 9 a.m. (overnight).
- Decorative flowers, plants, bushes, and trees may be watered at any time if watering is done by drip irrigation, by hand with a watering can, or with a hose that has an automatic shut-off valve.
- Paved areas, structures, motor vehicles, or boats may only be washed using a hose with an automatic shut-off valve
